I really didn't want to play a pilot but PC had said something about how there should be another pilot, and so I went with it.
My opinion, Apollo's a good choice to play, but you didn't need a second pilot. New Caprica makes pilots less important anyway. They have nothing to do on New Caprica, and you'll notice that even after Galactica returned, you never got back into a viper. On the way too, it doesn't matter so much if you lose a few civvies. (On the other side, Kat isn't that bad a pilot. Her weakness matters rarely, and if it does, there'll be plenty of time to get her back out of Sickbay.)
You've played a support character and a pilot so far. Next time, you can try a military leader or a politician if you like. The military leaders are generally the easiest to play, I think.

Current list for the next game:

Laga
Looks like New Caprica will be out, and Conflicted Loyalties will be in. We still have up to three slots for old, new or returning players. Who else would like to play?
If we're only adding one new element, I'm for Conflicted Loyalties. If we're up for trying two new things, I'd like to do Cylon Fleet as well.

Ok, I think we have our crew:

That's six players, which means that we can have a Cylon Leader (if anyone chooses to play one), but it's not necessary. We will be heading to Kobol rather than New Caprica, and we will be using Conflicted Loyalties.
We've also had two people vote for including the Cylon Fleet. How does everyone else feel about it? Some info:
The Cylon Fleet Board adds a number of new elements.
- There are no attack cards in the crisis deck. The Cylon fleet accumulates on a separate staging board. A pursuit track controls when it jumps in. When the (human) fleet jumps, Cylon ships don't disappear, they just move back to the staging board.
- There's a new Cylon location, the Basestar Bridge.
- There's a new title, the CAG (to go with the President and Admiral).
- There are some other bits and pieces too.
This game will already include a new element, Conflicted Loyalties. This is pretty easy to pick up, though. It doesn't really change how the game plays. The Cylon Fleet Board makes a bigger difference to how the game plays out - managing the space battle becomes more important, and the occurrence of Cylon attacks is less random. It is a complicated change, and understanding its complications (or not) is important.
With that said, do people want to try it in this game, or just deal with the Conflicted Loyalties for now?
BSG
I can take or leave Cylon Fleet at this point. I don't mind if we add it.
I'm neutral on the Fleet.
BSG
The votes on the Cylon Fleet module are tallied!
For:
Some!
Eh:
Others!
Against:
None!
This game will therefore include both Conflicted Loyalties and the Cylon Fleet module!
I'm gettin gthe files ready to send out. Pay special attention to the email about the new elements. Come the weekend, we'll be ready for character selection.
BSG
Ok! All the files are ready, and we are good to go with character selection. A couple of notes:
I recommend with the Cylon Fleet, that you have at least two people with Piloting skills. If you don't that's still workable, but it'll probably go easier with piloting backup.
We have six players, which means we can have a Cylon leader (limit of one). There are three options: Cavil, Leoben and Caprica Six. A Cylon leader gets a secret agenda instead of loyalty cards. It tells them which team they support, and another condition they need to fulfil as well in order to win. If you'd like to play a Cylon leader, you can choose on as your character choice, or in your COs. If no one else has picked one yet, then you'll get one.
If no one chooses a Cylon leader, then we will play a six-player game using the No Sympathiser rules (lower starting resources, revealed Cylons draw three cards instead of two).
Here is our player order:

Laga is up first. Everyone else, you can send me COs for your character choice. Everyone except Laga also gets a starting draw of three skill cards, from their regular draw. You can also send me COs for your card draw. Happy hunting!
