Starbuck fires!
Die roll: 2. Miss.
Well,
that
certainly raises some questions. If Apollo was executed for missing a basestar, what should be done with Starbuck? Cally's crisis is:
A Traitor Accused
Current Player's Choice
Cally, when you're ready, please post your choice.
BSG (Tory)
What the frak, Starbuck? Apollo took out THREE Raiders in one go, and you can't hit ONE? TO THE BRIG WITH YOU!
I'm not sure what option to go with. I can help with the check, but it will be difficult to pass with only four of us. And if you discard 5 cards, that's most of your hand, and we'll be even more card-starved than we are now. If we send someone to the brig, we'll have to waste cards to get them out anyway.
This is not a fortuitous beginning.
BSG (Dee is for Dunno)
At least we're getting Jump icons?
I would not be able to help with the check at all. due to my choice of initial draw. Whoops? Enbriggening might be the best choice - the check to debrig is lower than this one, and we'll get more cards as more of us get our turns.
BSG (Cally fragilistic)
So... it sounds like we are deciding
TANK
it. I am down with that.
BSG (Tory Poppins)
I'm up with
TANKING
as well, then. Don't you dare brig the President, however.
BSG (Wait, not me again!Starbuck?)
Hmm. Well, I'm sure there's some
really excellent reason
why I do not appear to be as flawless a pilot as the late, lamented, Apollo. And you all know, I am nothing if not compliant to the will of the people, so I agree to
TANK
. But don't brig me! I'm already short on cards, from, you know, when FORMER ME DIED! (It's totally gonna be me, isn't it?)
BSG (Tory Poppins)
Brigging you would have the following benefits: it would protect you from ending up in Sickbay when the Raiders activate and it would not affect our ability to pass skill checks at all since you don't have any cards anyway. But probably not a great idea to brig the pilot.
Dee is good to keep around for Comms. Cain seems like the best candidate, but I think brigging the Admiral would result in a passing of the torch. Which would be hilarious. Except for the fact that we don't want the Admiralty falling into the wrong hands. Unless they're already in the wrong hands.
Man, this game is just full of bad choices.
BSG (Starbuck)
Isn't it, though? I kinda love it! The only thing better than a first turn execution and a second turn brigging is a second turn brigging of an Admiral resulting in power shift! Who is next in succession?
BSG (Dee)
I am? That's weird. Not that I am angling for your job, Madam Admiral, sir. Not at all!
But probably not a great idea to brig the pilot.
As you point out, brigging the pilot who has no cards and is about to be fired upon by two raiders doesn't seem so bad.
OTOH, all of us but Tory are in position to engage the enemy, one way or another. If we brig her she stays President and gets her full draw, right? So it'd just be the card limitation on skill checks that would be the problem until she's freed.
Did Cally choose Option 1, then? If so, I vote
