You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I have passes from everyone. Apollo versus the basestar:

Fire 4: 1. Miss.

Well, really, Apollo. Just because you blow up all the raiders, you think that's good enough? The people want to know why it is that your viper can't blow up just one single basestar. Maybe you're in cahoots! A CAGlaborator, perhaps? Apollo's crisis is:

The Circle
President's Choice

President Foster, when you're ready, please post your choice.

You know, something I forgot to post from the last game, I had a short wrap-up of some interesting occurrences. We've started the next game, but I'll present these anyway:

  • Boomer's now been selected five times. She's been a human exactly once, in the very first game.

  • When I set the game up, I shuffle all the decks three times, to ensure they're well-mixed (using Excel functions to generate a random order). After the second shuffle of the crisis deck, I had the game starting with four attack cards in a row.

  • On turn 2.1 Boomer (a hidden Cylon at that time) tried to scout the crisis deck, but the die roll failed. If Boomer's scout had succeeded, she could have buried a crisis with a jump icon, her own crisis would've been Boarding Parties, and she could've buried another jump icon with her Recon. Instead, she had to bury Boarding Parties (to stay undetected), and the crew got both jump icons.

  • On turn 4.5, Gaeta jumped the fleet. Thirty Three's
Relentless Pursuit was in effect, so the crisis deck was reshuffled. If it hadn't been reshuffled, the first two crises of the next jump cycle would have been Tactical Strike and Dogfight, two more attack cards.

  • At the end of the game, when the space battle was out of control, the next four crises all had raider activations. Just to make life that much more difficult.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

BSG (Tory! Tory! Tory!)

WHAT. This is a terrible Crisis to get immediately! I kind of want to stay President, but I don't really want to kill Apollo...unless you really want to become Starbuck.

Because discarding all those cards right now would be bad. Well, wait, you just got a full draw, right? So maybe not too bad? You have 4 cards and I have 3 cards. If you die, you only lose 1 more card than you would have, and we take a Morale hit if you're human. But I guess it's losing 4 cards from you or 5 cards between us. I could discard 2 cards easily, but discarding cards seems bad this early. Would set us up for a challenging game!

Apollo, what do you think? I'm certainly not giving up the Presidency when I don't know who's who. Based on your first action, I think you're human, but Apollo makes a terrible President because he needs to be out in space, not sitting in the President's Office.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

BSG (Cally)

This is a rough time to be losing cards but at this point anyone could be a cylon. I don't think I make a very good president if I keep forgetting to use my quorum cards. Dee? You got any political aspirations?

And if Apollo is a Cylon and we execute him, hey, good for us!

Giving up the Presidency to a Cylon is too risky this early. I don't want the Quorum falling into Cylon hands.

Pretty much any choice I make is going to have a long-lasting effect on the entire game. The discard is the safest, but, if Apollo honestly wants to have gender reassignment surgery, this would be a hilariously perfect opportunity.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

BSG (Dee)

Dee? You got any political aspirations?

If called I would serve, sure. But Tory has no reason to trust any of us at this point, except maybe Apollo (who could have wiped out all the raiders as a ruse, I suppose. That's happened before).

So it's (a) both of you ditch all but one of your cards or (b) Apollo out the airlock? Tory gets her full draw after Cally's turn, but Apollo has a whole round to wait.

If Apollo is a cylon, then clearly executing him is the right choice. And if he's human and comes back as Starbuck, that would be funny. OTOH, he's my love interest in his donut-rich phase, I'd hate to miss out on that.

It's a great way to inspire trust! IT JUST WORKED ON ME, FOR INSTANCE.

If we do lose Morale because of Apollo's execution, I can always attempt to bring it back with a marvelous eulogy.

'because it would be funny' is imo the best reason to stage an execution.

Damn, I should have chosen Starbuck and we'd have an all female crew!

Hey, the Airlock is right there.

Really, it's almost too perfect. I hope Liese is down.

Also, just for the record, I do think it would be hilarious to replace Apollo with Starbuck, but doing that would leave me as the only person who draws Yellow. We'd get another person to draw Blue (optionally), though. Oh, wait, Cally also draws Yellow, and Apollo's Yellow is optional anyway. HILARITY.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I think they're all Cylons.
