'Objects In Space'
Gaming 1: You are likely to be eaten by a grue
A thread for the discussion of games: board, LARP, MMORPG, video, tabletop RPG, game theory etc. etc. and all attendant news, developments and ancillary subjects thereof, as well as coordinating/scheduling games either online or IRL. All are welcome to chime in, talk about their favorite games or learn about gaming of any sort.
PLEASE TO WHITEFONT SPOILERS for video games, RPG modules or anything for which foreknowledge of events might lessen one's enjoyment of whatever gaming experience.
The Gran Tirismo games put heavy emphasis on real life driving physics.
ION, I saw Bender's game the other night and loved it. Aside from the obvious LotR and Star Wars references, I caught references to Akira, Time Bandits and Adventures of Baron Munchausen. I was laughing most of the way through, and loved the reverse take on the Darth/Luke "I'm your father" scene.
Pete has been eaten by Gears of War 2. I KNOW I like Little Big Planet better, from a bystander perspective.
Does anyone here play the City of Heroes MMP? I got sucked into character creation for a supposedly unworkable game concept this past week, and fear I may be signing on for the online interactive version. If it can work on an ancient Mac iBook.
(The game is The X-Wives Club, centered on the genetically enhanced former wives of a Superman homage character. My contribution is Super Model.)
Matt, I have a bunch of friends who play City of Heros. If you want, I can find out what server they're on and the other identifying info.
Fallout3!Obsessive: The skill book to increase speech? Paradise Lost
Much obliged, Jilli. I really know nothing about the system requirements or even if it's the sort of game I'll enjoy (I've been a purist tabletop gamer for 27 years), but now that I have a hook to draw me in I'd like to at least scope it out.

Doesn't matter. But I will check out Gran Turismo.
Matt, I have a couple friends who still play CoH. And the X-Wives Club is pretty damn hysterical.
amych (whitefonted in case someone doesn't want to see how to plus up speech):
Get the Charisma bobblehead in the Vault 108 - Cloning Lab, and then the Speech bobblehead in Paradise Falls - Euology's pad. Also, there are 300+ skill books scattered throughout the game.
My friend bought the Prima guide for Fallout 3. "You can get the hardback version at Amazon for only $20 and it has all the locations for books (and other stuff) listed. It is quite handy and has a nice map too."
There are good guides here...
Oh, we've got the Prima guide, and it's a very good one, for anyone who's into using game guides (I know some aren't). In this case, it was just the particular choice of book that amused me a whole big lot.
