I'm not sure about this one. What about choosing option 1 and then tanking? Can we afford the morale hit?

I think Morale is our highest resource right now, but we will always be taking Morale hits.

Without an IC, we may end up losing more cards than 2 each to pass the check (worst case scenario, -18 from Destiny and Boomer!), so I think our options are really the discard or a tank.

What are the quorum card options like for a morale boost if we take the hit?

Oof, if I'm doing the math right, Fuel and Food are at 5, and Pop is at 4. Morale is at 7, which is great, but it won't take much to bring it down to the others' level. Any speeches up your sleeve, Madame President?

Tory is the one with a bunch of Loyalty cards, right? Which makes it less likely I would find a Cylon card if she has one, but it's still a chance. Checking random Loyalty cards after Sleeper is kind of annoying and useless. (But in the last real-life game I played, I had a fifty-fifty chance and did pull a Cylon card, so it can still be useful.)

I'm still a little wary of the Morale hit with our other resources so low. I'm going to wait for Gaeta to weigh in.

Hmm. Well, it's a risk either way, I suppose. We definitely don't want to go for it and fail, thus losing cards and morale. The Cylon check is kinda unhelpful at this point: I've been (at least halfway) checked and the fact that the Admiral told the truth about that leads me to believe he's clean (of course he could be telling the truth as a Cylon, but I really haven't seen any evidence in that direction.) Our president has lots of cards, but again, if she's a Cylon, has been playing it pretty straight. At any rate, it's a low check number, so we could go for it, but as noted, it could escalate into a lot of cards spent, without an IC.

So yeah, tank or discard. I can afford the discard, personally, because my turn is coming up. But I don't know that we want to be running Tory completely out.

That was a lot of talky. I guess I'm leaning toward tanking. I think it's a risk, and I'm never happy deliberately losing resources. I'm still upset about the population loss from the jump. And New Caprica is a pretty serious unknown as far as how resources will shake down there. But all that said, I think tanking might be our best option here.
