While I'm at it, administrative note: Destiny's play into this check brought it down to 6 cards. I've replenished the Destiny deck. Doing so exhausted the Politics deck. I've reshuffled the discards.

Well, there's no gain to going for the skill check, but I think it'd probably be easier to spring you from the brig than to recover morale. Plus, it's a die roll, so you might not end up brigged.
