With the Pegasus expansion, jump icons from crises drawn by Cylons do count. This is a change to the base game rules. (Cylon ship activation icons still don't have any effect.)

Hmm. I still think it's too big a risk. We're basically praying Chief pulls two Jump icon crises. If he doesn't, or if Apollo's crisis puts something in the air he can use with Cylon Fleet, we're heading into Gaeta's Super Crisis before we can jump to Kobol.
I say build up resources now and on Anders' turn so we can survive the Cylons and use the Engine Room next round.
