I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

BSG

President Baltar takes to the podium. He addresses the fleet.

"Hello ladies. Look at your man. Now back to me. Now back at your man. Now back at me. Sadly, he isn’t me. But if he stopped using month-old horse tallow and a timeshare scouring pad and switched to Old Floppy-Haired Genius he could smell like he’s me. Look down. Back up. Where are you? You’re on a battlestar with the President your man could smell like. What’s in your hand? Back at me. I have it. It’s a toaster with two tickets to that thing you love. Look again. The tickets are now baby recipes! Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Floppy-Haired Genius and not a farm animal."

"I’m on an ungodly pilot-raptor Cyborg hybrid."

Powerful stuff! Let's see how the fleet reacts:

Die roll: 4 + 2 = 6. Pass!

Morale increases by 1, and demand for Old Floppy-Haired Genius skyrockets! Which is unfortunate, as Old Floppy-Haired Genius is not so much an actual product as it is not an actual product. I'm afraid there's going to be trouble when they realise. President Baltar's Crisis is:

Riots
Admiral's Choice

Admiral Cain, when you're ready, please post your choice.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Die roll: 4 + 2 = 6. Pass!

Rock! Thanks for your help, Admiral! You really...spiced my speech up.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

BSG

I riotously demand, um, not to have to smell like Baltar!

Looks like it'd be easiest to drop that morale we just gained and food. I'd rather that than lose fuel and population, I think.

By the way, a reminder for the crew: when you post definite orders, put them in bold. Helps me distinguish easily between orders and discussion.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

BSG

Which is more easily replenishable, Fuel or Food?

when you post definite orders, put them in bold

eep! Sorry I keep forgetting

There are 4 Quorum cards that increase Food, and 1 that can increase Fuel. Most Destinations lose Fuel, but there are about 5 that give you the chance to increase it. There are 3 Destinations that let you gain Food. These Destinations (both Fuel and Food) are generally 1 Distance. There are 5 Crisis Cards that give the chance to increase Food, and 1 that lets you increase Fuel, which you've already encountered. And passed! Go you!

Er, I can't do the advanced calculus required to figure out which is the better option here, but it seems from that assessment that Food is more easily replenishable. Based on number of cards, at least. Doesn't mean it's ever going to be EASY. It's your choice, Admiral.

I go with option 2.

BSG

The slow realisation that Old Floppy-Haired Genius is not commercially available reverses the gains from Baltar's speech, and sparks ice cream and Tim Tam binges across the fleet. Morale and Food drop by 1.

Finally, the jump prep track advances by 1. That concludes President Baltar's turn. Boomer is still on the Resurrection Ship, so she draws only one card, and has opted to draw Treachery. Her card is going out.
