You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

This is worth a look. Over on boardgamegeek they're running a LOLcats game of BSG: [link] Occasionally hilarious.

Update on Buffistica 7, we now have five players signed up: Laga, -t, Polter-Cow, NoiseDesign and Liese. There's room for one more, if anyone else would like to sign up before we set sail. We won't be starting until ND's back from the current cruise work, which means after this weekend.

Meanwhile, going on current votes, it looks like this will be another Pegasus game, using the same rules as the last game. If no one has any objections, we'll do character selection via preference lists again. We can start on that now. Everyone who's signed up for the game, you have the list of possible characters. Whenever you're ready, you can send me your list of preferences for this game.

Does a five-person game still have two Cylons?

Yes, a five-player game has two Cylons but no sympathiser. (We played the 6-player game under the no-sympathiser variant anyway, which changes the nature of the difference. Under the standard rules, the 6-player:5-player difference is sympathiser:no sympathiser. Using the variant instead, the difference between is handicap:no handicap. (The handicap was lower starting resources and Cylons draw more cards.)

If no one else signs up, this game will be:

5 player
2 Cylons, no sympathiser
Standard starting resources; revealed Cylons draw 2 cards per cycle.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I downloaded the demo for Lego Star Wars III. It's got some cool additions to the first games (lightsaber throwing, using the force to move R2 into a places he can't normally fly to, split-screen with different actvities for each player in co-op mode) but I'm concerned the complexity leap (using the force to move objects actually requires you to direct where it goes. The R2 and 3PO panels are now pattern puzzles instead of a simple button press) may be a bit much for Mattias, who loves the original two games.

Then again he managed to clear the initial classroom level of Lego Harry Potter on his own yesterday morning, so he may surprise me.

I now have character choices from everyone, and there are some interesting results. It is not possible, this time around, to give everyone their first choice. Three people chose a pilot for their first pick; no one rated any military leader any higher than third pick. Alas, then, one pilot-preferring player will have to make do with their third choice. Consolation prize, the Admiralty and two, count them, two nuclear warheads.

Please welcome the crew of Buffistica 7, shown here in their randomly determined player order:

Liese S.: Samuel T. Anders
Laga: Admiral Helena Cain
Polter-Cow: President Gaius frakking Baltar
-t: Sharon "Boomer" Valerii
NoiseDesign: Callandra "Armed and Dangerous" Tyrol

I like where this is heading. Everyone except Anders begins with a starting draw of 3 cards, taken from their regular card draw. Everyone-except-Anders, please either post here or email me your choice of cards. After all the cards have gone out, Anders will lead off the festivities.
