In my head I'm thinking the POV of the person being contacted. The POV of the alien is an interesting idea though.

Person being contacted might be easier for the reader. I certainly like the premise, you could do a lot with that.

I like the idea because I think there's it's highly likely that sending meat between the stars may never be possible, but these aliens (who transitioned from biological forms a couple million years ago) show that not being able to transport meat doesn't mean the stars are off limits. I feel like it would be a hopeful story.

Disabled writers are INSANE Shit I didn't say "No, Mr. My Art Rejects Disability Culture, you took the same money as me, so, no, it doesn't." Nicer:"Help me now...have that epiphany NEXT month, maybe?" argh, argh, argh!

Because books.

That's a great piece, Tom. Thanks for the link. And he's not wrong about any of it.

Our wings are not tired.

I like to go to book events and meet and greet the authors, and when they have them up here in the Adirondacks it sparks my interest. Why do they have to do it in the middle of the work day? And I was really curious how they managed to find 30 authors nearby!

From 1-4 p.m. on Friday July 21, area authors will sell and sign their books under the tent on the Old Forge Library lawn, 220 Crosby Blvd . There will be more than 30 authors on hand...

It is still light out late at night, and there are weekends. I have to say the itty bitty local library has lots of events every week, but rarely when I can attend.

Our wings are not tired.

My writing is generally business letters and training materials, but this week I have had to write a eulogy, which I will also have to deliver. Yikes! I am able to read it aloud without issue, and will practice in front of my family before attempting this on Saturday.

Anyway, would it be okay to post it here and get any comments in case something is odd or should be changed? This seems as close to an appropriate thread as any.

eta: I am just going to post it for feedback. When I read it aloud it is 5 minutes, although I may have more pauses in front of a crowd.
