I'm feeling some of the same urgency about writing, although in my case, it's my own mortality that's at issue.
The Great Write Way, Act Three: Where's the gun?
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
Strix, some people don't ever use much of an outline. But I think if you're serious about doing this fairly quickly, the more maps you have, the better.
Ginger, I was thinking about you the other day, because I was revisiting my apocalyptic idea. Also, hugs if you'll like them.
I have an apocalyptic idea myself, plus a lot of notes for essays on things like why apocalypses appeal and why the Lord of the Flies scenarios are unrealistic.
I was reading a young adult apocalyptic series a while back and realized that I wanted there to be a Rate This Apocalypse website on the probability of different scenario. I may be alone in this.

I love that idea too, Ginger.
I am also hitting the point where a workshop or a support group or beta readers would be a huge help. But I hesitate to ask here just because it's NOT genre and I suspect not most people's cup of tea. Oh Amy, I would love to have you read it! This is a different project entirely, but I've been writing it for about a year now. Egad I'm a slow writer. I have such respect for writers who can just get the job done!
And impressive word count. I am hoping to get a page or so written later this afternoon, when I'm don't wrangling homework, but that's only 500 words or so.
Send it along! Just let me know what kind of feedback you want, and when you need it.
