I love that idea too, Ginger.
I am also hitting the point where a workshop or a support group or beta readers would be a huge help. But I hesitate to ask here just because it's NOT genre and I suspect not most people's cup of tea. I like the idea of sharing writing goals, and it would be easier to make time to write when I know my friends are doing it as well.
I read non-genre, Burrell! And I remember I read something else of yours a while back that I liked.
I'm up to ... 873 words so far today, and my goal is 1,500. I might just make it.
Oh Amy, I would love to have you read it! This is a different project entirely, but I've been writing it for about a year now. Egad I'm a slow writer. I have such respect for writers who can just get the job done!
And impressive word count. I am hoping to get a page or so written later this afternoon, when I'm don't wrangling homework, but that's only 500 words or so.
Send it along! Just let me know what kind of feedback you want, and when you need it.
I got to 1,225 yesterday! So my goal today is 1,500 again.
Go Amy! I didn't get a word written yesterday because both kids went into full tantrum mode, one after the other. And today was gonna be writing in the am, but DH went all needy and required personal attention all morning.
Le sigh.
I didn't write a word yesterday, but I wrote 1,248 words today, so I'm calling it good. I need to start earlier tomorrow. And make sure there are fewer children around.
That is a good day! I struggle to get 300 to 500 words on a regular day. I could possibly push through more if I allow myself to self-edit less.
I want to try for 1,500 a day. If I get close, that'll be fine. I'm not working, so I have no excuse. (That's crappy motivation, but it actually works for me.)
