It means I'm listed on my first con schedule - which is really cool. I'm still way more excited about going to all the readings and panels I can - so that's where my focus is going. It means I'm on a panel (there are a billion of those), staffing a workshop, and reading for a half hour to chairs before I go squee at Seanan and Jo Walton and and and... So yeah, slight squee. And terror. Lots of terror.

It's just the timing - and I'm far from upset about it - the reading slot is 7-7:30pm when the Hugo Awards start at 8pm. I might not get a lot of audience anyway, since I'm new, but this slot is when people will be getting ready, getting seats for the awards, etc.
So I may find something nice to reward the people who do come... that I like to eat/drink too. And I'll probably keep it short so we can get seats.

Sylvie's got great tips for public speaking, btw! She chimed in on a blog post where I'm not yet talking about the fact that I'm an 'opening act for the Hugos*' (TM, P-C). So you all are technically the first to hear about this development.
