Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

The Great Write Way, Act Three: Where's the gun?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm not officially doing NaNoWriMo, but I have been rapidly taking notes on a plot bunny for the past several days. Maybe I'll even get around to actually writing a scene or two this month before I once again decide that I can't write.

Can you make a profile without signing up for those "encouraging" e-mails because those make me a little bit homicidal.

Because books.

Can't you just unsubscribe from them, like anything?

The one year I did NaNo, I don't remember emails.

not your mom's socks.

I don't get emails. So, yes, at some point I killed them all.

I've found myself a new writing/critique group! Local authors who all write YA -- most of them were at the signing last week, and they seem like a really fun group.

Wish me luck! I need some f2f people here, and a writing group makes it even better.

Good deal, Amy! I hope it's a good group, with helpful insights and No Drama.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good luck, Amy, that sounds excellent so far!

I don't get NaNo e-mails either, and I think I just created the account (and didn't mess with any settings) this year, so maybe that's the default. I completely forgot to write on Saturday, and I am not hitting the daily target to make the magic 50,000 by the end of the month, but other than the one day I have written SOMETHING every day and that was really my goal. So, yay for that.

Yeah, I haven't worked on the story, but I've written more non-fiction, and I am perfectly happy with that, since I gotta pay the bills, yo.

NaNoWriMo, I subvert your word count to fit my own needs! Suck it!!!
