Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

not your mom's socks.

Anne - FWIW, you might also check out Cicus Ponies Notebook if it's not specifically a writing project. And Yojimbo.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

My writing goal for November is 1k a day, and finishing a short story a week. I did it last year with some success, so I'm hoping it'll go well this year.

Is anyone doing NaNo?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was thinking about it, but more in the way of making sure I spend an hour a day writing than word-count goals.

Because books.

I'm going to be NaNo-adjacent and blog about it. November is the worst time of the year NaNo could be, for me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I was thinking about it. But I don't know. I always fail! I guess I should already be doing it if I'm going to!

if you do, and don't make it to 50k, you still have a bunch of writing done, right? ::NUDGE:: (t- lookin' at you too)

ALL MUST JOIN ME IN MY MISERY.

Because books.

Seriously. I think you can make NaNo what you want it to be. My goal is just to blog every day for a month.

If you use it that way, and don't focus on the result, I think it's a great idea. (Or if you play by the rules, obviously.)

I decided to sign up just this morning, Liese! Dooo eeeet!!

Because I need to spark creativity in my life in general. I haven't explored yet, but my username over there is jenbefore.

I have such envy of and admiration for storytellers. You people with the characters, and the plotting, and the world building, and the... storytelling! I just don't even know.

Okay okay! I am so susceptible to peer pressure! None of you offer me any drugs, okay? I signed up. I even gave myself a randomized title. But I don't know how to add you as writing buddies! What do I do?
