Yeah, I think if the odds of a bad review are that high, it's not worth it.

The Great Write Way, Act Three: Where's the gun?
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
Blah. I took an editorial pass at one of my stories yesterday and am now confronted with the horror that is my own self-important tripe. My goal is to have 3 mid-length stories in editing by next week and I'm nearly there, but now I'm squished. I know the only way out of it is through it. But meh.
Good luck, Sox!
I blogged my new book idea, so now I have to write it. I need to get my query letters done and get those first couple of queries out there so I feel like I can move on to something new.
Thank you Gud!
ETA: BTW, I looked at the fantasy-writers.org site, even though fantasy's not where I live right now. What a great group. I wish there was something like that for sci-fi and such. Have any ideas?
Gud, I'm going to look at your synopsis today, promise.
Sox, does it work for you to do all that once? That would be daunting, and a little confusing, to me.
Also, maybe start editing the piece that's been written the longest, so you have some distance from it?
Thanks for the comments, Amy. I just got them.
I've put up a couple of Sci-Fi stories without any problems, but it's definitely biased heavily toward fantasy. I don't really know of a sci-fi site like that. There's SFWA, but I'm not qualified to join.

I'm not sure what works and what doesn't right now. Much of what I'm trying to do is build some habits back up, in addition to, you know, not writing horrible stuff.

Yah, the one I went after is the one you read a very early draft of. It's changed a lot, but still has a couple of really S-L-O-W sections. /tsks/

ah, ok.

aside from GWW.
I stumbled across SheWrites after a visit to VIDA (http://vidaweb.org/). I really like Vida, but SheWrites seems very, very big.
Barnes and Noble fixed my author information. Now I finally feel free to link there!
I'm working on outlining Cog. I think I'm all ready to start querying too, but I'm having a hard time willing myself to get those first couple out. The odds seem so terrifyingly low.
The odds are better if you send the queries than if you don't.
Very true.
