Final word count for the latest Steampunk Tales story: 4,615.
And I checked my contract with them: they retain rights for a year after publication. Which means I can't just put all of the installments together and see if I can sell them as a book. Pooh.

So my wife asked me to print out my novelette for her dad and he liked the story though I was greatly amused he referred to the character I think of as "the asshole" as "the ding dong". Hello writey buffistas! Damn, I've missed hanging out here.
So I popped in looking to drabble a bit...and the last prompt was in January? Ack.
I know, I've been scarce since 200something, and I'm all show uppy and demanding. It's just, I'm almost embarrassed by how little creative writing I've done the whole year. (Scratch the almost.) I need some vicarious success from my buffistas. So how have you all been?

I've got several things I'm working on, although not too well at present, and I have a big publication coming up shortly.
This is my new short story (near future SciFi), and I'm thinking about maybe trying to do something with it. The topic for the challenge was leaving off with a choice.
If anyone happens to be curious or needs to kill a little time. About 7,000 words. It hasn't been completely polished up yet.
