Thanks for the one vs. two advice.

Chapter length maybe something to ask betas about. I sort of like the smaller chapters, but that's just me. Things are still pretty malleable, though.

I think it's probably a personal taste thing. I prefer one or two POV characters per book. There are some very popular series, though, that have a sort of ensemble cast (Jim Butcher's Codex Alera springs to mind) with multiple PsOV, and they seem to be doing quite well.

I have no real opinion on chapter length (especially not having read the book), it was just something I wondered about.

By the way, Deena, I'm not going to have a story for you for that Trafficking project. I've got characters, a hook, a universe. What I don't have is a plot. It makes me weep, my inability to put anything coherent on paper anymore.

I understand Connie. I haven't been able to do much in that line myself.

I need to do some minor cleaning of 39 and then it'll be in the bag. I've started 40 as well. Things are chugging along.

I think I'm going to have to do some cutting in the first part of the book, things may go a little too slow in places.

I felt sort of like a dork as I was getting misty writing the end (well, not the very end) of 38 and the beginning of 40. It's not that the writing is so moving it's just that I can see it in my head so well. Now, if I get could just get the vivid image on paper.

I hope the constant updates aren't annoying. I'm still a long ways from being done.

39 and 40 are done. I've barely started 41, this is an area of the rough draft I need to shrink down some. I think I made a good call in 40 where I cut a lot from the rough draft. It wasn't all that interesting anyhow.

I've dug into 41 now and have gotten through the opening fight. Now for the flight, and a couple of complications before going onto 42.

I think I have a definite plan for shortening the beginning though it may only net me about 5,000 words or so. Maybe I can cut a little from chapter 12 and 13 as well and get another 2,000 words or so. After that, I'm not sure, there is so much interdependency.

The other plan would be to slow things down and give more detail while going to a two book solution. I'd have to juice up the plot in the beginning half though since it was never meant to be complete story.
