Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

We're ready to go! I just need to make two changes to some dialogue, and then she'll submit this week (or possibly next if western civilization collapses).

She says it's a good book and can picture people reading it to their kids at night.

This is EXACTLY the sentence I needed to read.

Oh. I'm just so glad to have written another submission-worthy book.

I thought it was a fluke the first time around. Even if I don't make a sale, this was a huge hump to get over for me. I'm so relieved/grateful/teary.

“Not dead yet!”

Congrats, Allyson!

And I know what you mean. You can have everyone and their mother telling you it's fabulous and wonderful, but when it comes from someone who has the ability to get it out there, there's a different sense of validation involved there.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, Allyson! You're talented, and it was not a fluke!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Totally not a surprise. It's a wonderful book.

Because books.

I talked to my new editor today! She ... sounds about twelve, but she's smart and funny and very enthusiastic.

And now I'm bouncy and unfocused and completely unable to concentrate on anything I'm supposed to be doing.
