Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I am going bananas waiting for feedback from my agent. Yes. I know. Probably won't hear anything for two more weeks. AND THEY WILL BE THE LONGEST TWO WEEKS OF MY LIFE.

cries

What if it sucks? What if it needs another rewrite? What if it's an epic fail? What if it doesn't go out to editors until after the holidays?

I shall die. Just die.

Pass the smelling salts, as I shall faint.

My plan with comments is to collect everything and go through all of them with every chapter in my second revision. If there are enough general problems though, I might have to rethink that second revision strategy. I'm hoping that I'll have things in good enough shape to spend the second revision picking away at paragraphs and sentences, clearing up confusing parts, removing adverbs, removing adjectives where possible, finding better words, punching up dialogue, eliminating out of character moments, and generally fixing stuff up but not making big changes to plot or characters.

Well, that and generally looking for recurring problems that I might start keeping a lookout for on my current revision.

Revision, it's going to take awhile.

Because books.

Allyson, don't make me speak sternly to you.

In the meantime, why don't we figure out what we're doing with this collection thing? Should we make a poll for the theme?

That's a good idea, Amy. It will keep my mind busy.

Because books.

You know that was a kidding, "Don't make me turn this car around" tone, right?

But yes! I mean, I'll help, too. I want to get this rolling.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

What if it sucks? What if it needs another rewrite? What if it's an epic fail?

It most emphatically does not suck and is not an epic fail. If it needs another rewrite, you rewrite.

You could also be spending your time turning it into a script for Pixar, which it would be perfect for.

I've got 14 and 15 read through. I'm done with Edmund extraction revising and back to regular revising!

Of course, since we are replacing all the windows in the house, it may be Thursday before I have time to get to the regular revising.

Edited because I made 'windows' a proper noun when I meant for it to be a regular noun. We're replacing the glass things one looks through, not computer operating systems.
