um, hand. oy.
The Great Write Way, Act Three: Where's the gun?
A place for Buffistas to discuss, beta and otherwise deal and dish on their non-fan fiction projects.
Oh, I have an fun idea. I'll try to find the time.
Maybe it's too obvious and has already been done.
A Halloween Scream. Eddie, a soulful and good vampire is squashing the Halloween spirit of his fellow undead, the day before Halloween he is visited by Jake, his old hunting partner before Jake's pure and true love for a woman made him regain his soul and mortality. Jake warns him of his fate if he follows his road to good. Later, he is visited by three spirits of Halloween who help him lose his moral angstiness and regain his Halloween spirit.
I've not been really focused lately, but I'll try.

No promises, mind. I can also do a line-edit turn, if one more nit-picker is needed, and I'll expect reciprocation if I do get something down. Because I have no perspective on my own stuff.

I'd love to take part, although I'm not sure I have much to say about goats.
I'll throw my hand in for eventual copyediting.
I've made an actual list! Yay.
Glad you listed the old schoolers, too. Would BHP have any interest? She did technical writing, career wise, but she's a hella good with words. There are other non-writer writers too, like ita.
Are there genre limitations? What about poets like victor & thessaly?
And I don't mean this to be social capital spendy, but honestly, there probably should be some pickin' & choosin' although I guess if Amy's willing to do the work to get everybody tightened up...
This is a big project, 'ffistas! Can we really pull this off? What all would need to happen?
Choose a theme and a reasonable Buffista due date (2015 maybe), send out a call for contributors with a due date to enter so we know how many to expect and what, collect the stories, edit, proof, bag head against wall, debate title and cover art, layout, send to lulu print-on-demand, pat ourselves on the back and lament the horrible bloodshed that no doubt will occur.
Poetry is an excellent idea, Liese. I always forget poetry because ... well, I haven't written poetry for years, and I don't read a lot of it anymore. But I think poetry would be a fabulous addition.
Here's what I think needs to happen first:
1) We need to pick a theme.
2) We need to set a word limit, especially for fiction.
3) We need a deadline for entries to be submitted.
After that, there would be a lot of details to hammer out, especially since I know nothing about Lulu. But those are the first steps.
Also, a comm on LJ might be helpful, and editing could probably take place in Google docs.
Or, what Allyson said!
