Getting so close. I'm guessing about 21-23 word-processor pages left in the draft. Though now it feels like that's when the real work begins.
Hey, don't discount the first draft. That's a hell of a lot of work, right there.
Fay, I'd love to take a look!
It's a lot of work, but it feels unfit for human consumption. So many typos and bad punctuation and story/character stuff that needs to be fixed. Whole characters to rip out of the plot.
Well, typos and punctuation are easy fixes. The story/character work is harder, but I think having that foundation of the rough draft is awesome -- it gives you something to build on.
erika, just wanted to let you know that comments should be coming later today. Sorry for the delay.
Not a big deal. I've just been working on something else anyway. But I'll be glad to know what you think.ETA: Fay, I'll show you mine, if you show me yours.
Chapter 29 is kicking my ass. I will try to tame it tonight.
I managed to get back to the place I was in 29 before ripping up a lot of it and redoing. I woke up all ready to work on it, but knew I wouldn't get a chance for at least 12 hours and realistically 15 hours. Frustrating.
I'm back on track for Chapter 29 and moving ahead. I feel like I'm burning through too many words getting to the ending, bringing up the specter of 31 chapters instead of 30. Look characters, I know you've got some personal and political issues to work out, but I've got an army I need to get moving.
