I hate to break it to you, oh impotent one, but you're not the big bad anymore, you're not even the kind of naughty.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I just read somewhere about someone selling a second person present novel. "You walk to the car and find a milkjug...."

It sounded odd but interesting.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

But non-fic is different for reasons unknown to me. Vampire People was sold with the proposal, and then I was given x months to finish it by the editor.

Yep. GCS was sold on the proposal, and I had something like 9 months to finish it once I got the offer.

I really need to write up the proposal for the paranormal romance parody I came up with and send it to my agent. I just need to find some time to do that ...

Because books.

Bright Lights, Big City was the first major instance of that, and caused a lot of stir at the time. It's a lot harder to read, but I think in short pieces it can be sort of interesting.

Anybody interested in beta-ing a short sci-fi story that I co-wrote? My writing partner and I are hoping to submit it to the sci-fi mags, so some feedback would be welcome.

Also, does anyone have any experience with short stories and sci-fi mags?

Because books.

Wolfram, is it hard sci-fi? Because I'm really not a good judge there.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Wolfram, I'd like to have a look.
