You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

She told me later she thought they were a couple, until the one guy said he was from Texas. Ha! They have teh gays in Texas, I'm sure

HAH! They even have hot gays in Texas. At least, in Austin.

Chickenhawk is for the old men that like the young men, yes. Twink is the young gay men, whether or not they like the older men, I believe. Though it's generally a specific SORT of young men...

Daddy is a whole other thing. And isn't *necessarily* about actual age, though often there's an element of that. It's more about power and age *play*.

Heh. I feel like your kink waiter for the evening, explaining the specials! Hee.

And on that note, I went to see a movie called "Kiss the Bride", which was basically "My Best Friend's Wedding", only ditch Julia Roberts for Rupert Everett. And make the boys have had a secret high school romance. And replace Cameron Diaz with Tori Spelling. Um. Kinda fun, until the last ten minutes went too over the top for me. Silly gays.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ah! I had a very nice day today. Cousin came over and wanted to shop so we packed up the kids and took them to 3rd Street. Went to Lush and bought goodies--Isaac picked out a lavendar bubble bath shaped like a huge Hersheys kiss and Frances picked out one covered in gold glitter. And then Anthropology was having a sale, so I bought a shirt and skirt. And french fries were had. Good day!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Doctors, I need your medical advice. A bug bite surrounded by swelling an inch in diameter-- is that worrisome? It doesn't look like a bullseye and it's not terribly itchy. But it happened while I was sleeping and it's a big bump ON MY FACE! Advice?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ditching J---a R-----s from ANY movie will improve it!

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

I bought a new teapot. It's the same manufacturer as my previous one, but they changed the shape of the spout so that it dribbles less when you pour! It's really exciting!

I just met the construction supervisor to give him the final payment for the porch, so it's all done!

Plus, for you people, I'll stop posting excited bulletins about its progress. Except that if you listen very carefully in the direction of Somerville, you may hear my happy sigh as I enter or leave my house for the next year or two, until the shiny wears off.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Did the swelling last, bon bon? I still have no knowledge or advice, but I hope it got better overnight, at least.

Good celebrity sighting, scrappy!

Good new teapot, Tom!

YAY FRIDAY.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I think that one's being taken over by Persons Who Rah Rah Us Into War But Would Never Go Themselves Under Any Circs. Or at least in my blog circles.

I think the current use is partly due to the less than flattering associations of the other definition (which was co-opted by or for NAMBLA at one point).

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

It's Friday It's Friday.

I am wearing my favorite dress. I am going out after work tonight. mac is at his first sleepover. It is sunny and warm. YAY LIFE!

just to continue with the annoyingly good mood post - we made up a song last night, ma and I - sung to the basic conga beat: Donut Donut Do-Nut Donut Donut Do-Nut, doing the donut dance. (mac was given a donut covered drizzled with chocolate syrup and with whipped cream rosettes for dessert at a diner we go to each week).

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

A bug bite surrounded by swelling an inch in diameter...Advice?

Don't scratch it.

Sounds like it could be a spider bite, so I'd recommend having a doctor look at it. If I recall correctly, you live far enough east and north that a spider bite isn't likely to be dangerous, but you'll want it to heal cleanly, and a dermatologist can help with that.
