"upskill" real word or really horrible business speak.
Dear god!
Is it meant to be a noun?
....surely not a verb?

I've been to a number of weddings where I wasn't closely connected to anyone who wasn't part of the wedding party - is that really that uncommom?
When it's someone who's part of your gang of old friends or you know the whole family or something, sure, a + guest is unnecessary and sometimes even awkward. If not, though, the prospect of being the lone single at a table of unknown couples may well be enough to make me decline the invitation.
THANK YOU! ok back to putting this document together.
Matt - didn't I see that groom's cake on Ace of Cakes?
I don't watch Ace of Cakes, but possibly. I know the groom in question picked it based on Steel Magnolias. (Though as far as I know it wasn't a concession to a favorite crazy aunt who baked it herself.)

Me too. I got invited to a number of friends' weddings back in college where I only knew the bride and groom. Coupled with my serious discomfort at making small talk with complete strangers, it made for some awkward receptions.
it is used as a verb..."educate and upskill [employees]..."
Perhaps if they upskilled writing, we wouldn't have to face that word.
educate and upskill [employees]
No. Bad. Must be removed. And then I need to wash my eyes.

Sweet Fancy Moses.
That's such an egregious abuse of the language that I want to check it for bruises.
Fake word! Fake word! Burn it!
Can we file upskill in the manure pile with productize?
I'd also like to nominate proactive for tossing in the poo pile. The word, not the product.
