I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I have today off and Monday off. Today I'm going to lunch in the city & to Nordstrom's, and at some point this weekend I'm going to see Indiana Jones. Also I need to do a lot of running.

And I have to re-apply for my current job this weekend, since they've announced it as a permanent position, so if I want to keep it for more than the next 8 months I have to reapply. Woot. I better make the cut!

Librarian Warlord

We're off to Richmond this weekend because it is my nephew's 14th birthday. So my weekend is cake and trying to teach my puppy how to use the doggie door at my sister's house. Sassafras is uncertain about going through the wee (pun!) door.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

DH is out of town at a conference till tomorrow afternoon, so tonight it's me and Annabel, and then tomorrow we'll go to the airport to get him. No big plans for the weekend--we have M's tix for Monday night, and we might stop by the Folklife Festival Sunday or Monday.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This weekend will be mostly staying home with a sick kid, unfortunately. I'm hoping D's fever breaks before Sunday so we can at least have one day to get outside.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Audit: 98% Of Iraq Contractors Failed To Comply With Fraud Regulations

See, this is just another example of the liberal media focusing on what's wrong in Iraq. Where are the articles on the progress in Iraq? Why are there no articles about the 2% of contractors who did comply with fraud regulations?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Getting my hair cut and colored today, then this weekend is house-cleaning, gym, gardening, and going to the new Indy.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Going to a party Sunday, and otherwise hanging out and watching the Mars landing.

I don't know if I'll be back for that. If I am, a watch-n-post could be fun....

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I find them all the time (oh, students), and I never know what to do -- I mean, it could be the person who lost it, but on the other hand, if it's not, then I feel like I'm really invading their privacy. Ack.

There was an article in the NY Times about a week ago that suggested calling "Mom" on lost cell phones, on the theory that mothers will probably know how to reach the kid and are used to fixing things for them.

That's what I did with students, I can't be bothered to wait for it to ring. Plus, if you find a wallet, wouldn't you open it to try to return it?

As for privacy, I'm trying to return something that I presume is important and that someone lost, so they can just get over it.
