Yeah, but you're an amateur fry cook and I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Getting my hair cut and colored today, then this weekend is house-cleaning, gym, gardening, and going to the new Indy.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Going to a party Sunday, and otherwise hanging out and watching the Mars landing.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

otherwise hanging out and watching the Mars landing.

I don't know if I'll be back for that. If I am, a watch-n-post could be fun....

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I find them all the time (oh, students), and I never know what to do -- I mean, it could be the person who lost it, but on the other hand, if it's not, then I feel like I'm really invading their privacy. Ack.

There was an article in the NY Times about a week ago that suggested calling "Mom" on lost cell phones, on the theory that mothers will probably know how to reach the kid and are used to fixing things for them.

That's what I did with students, I can't be bothered to wait for it to ring. Plus, if you find a wallet, wouldn't you open it to try to return it?

As for privacy, I'm trying to return something that I presume is important and that someone lost, so they can just get over it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Memorial Day Weekend usually means the first big tournament of the season for Emmett and this weekend is no exception. So driving down to Twin Creeks on Saturday for two games - second game at 8:30pm (WTF?). Stay at hotel, two games on Sunday, EM spends the night with Emmett if they make it to Monday's games. JZ goes solo with Matilda Saturday night and might go see her Mom then.

Self feeding: Matilda refuses sippy cups. She likes to drink out of a real glass. She does like using the spoon but she's generally getting about half of it on her clothes. But she does seem to have that thing where she wants to do what the big people do. (Emmett did not have that thing and would be still happily crapping in diapers and sucking on a binky if we hadn't removed those options. Emmett is about easy and immediate gratification.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am in such denial about my meeting with Big Boss this afternoon, I can't even tell you. I don't wanna!

Coding and Sleeping

After our initial meeting with the principal yesterday, it looks like Leif will go to the third grade summer school to see how it goes. He's a tricky kid to place.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Here's a story about answering a cell phone. [link]

I'll be working most of the weekend and attending a cookout on Monday.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm going to do a bit of decorating and finishing up two more chapters for the new book. Should be sending it to Agent Kate in a few weeks, and then we'll find out whether I have another sale or not. My nails are bitten down to the nub.

hip deep in pie

I just went to an all you can eat Indian/Thai lunch buffet. I am practically stoned on starchy/spicy Indian food. And the naan, my god the naan! I can barely find the muscle tension to type.
