The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Does that get me off the hook?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

She's got a lot of practice at it fairly recently: anyone else remember Summerland?

HA. Oh poor Summerland. How short lived you were. Deservedly.

It got SO PAINFULLY WRETCHED BAD at the end. Not that it was good to start with.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

State GOP chair: McCain 'kind of like Jesus'

Columbus — Georgia Republican Party chairwoman Sue Everhart said Saturday that the party's presumed presidential nominee has a lot in common with Jesus Christ.

"John McCain is kind of like Jesus Christ on the cross," Everhart said as she began the second day of the state GOP convention. "He never denounced God, either."

Everhart was praising McCain for never denouncing the United States while he was being tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.

"I'm not trying to compare John McCain to Jesus Christ, I'm looking at the pain that was there," she said.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

No. But my utter lack of interest in the zip might. Doesn't mean I won't call you fickle though.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

"John McCain is kind of like Jesus Christ on the cross,"

"I'm not trying to compare John McCain to Jesus Christ,"

Lady, "kind of like" is an explicit phrase of comparison. Please go die in a fire and then re-enroll in seventh-grade English class.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Shrift, you totally were almost practically truly on a date With Johnny Depp, is how I look at it. It turns out Flight of the Conchords were at the Crowded House concert I was at on Saturday, but I didn't find out until the next day. I am still counting it as them being my new BFFs.

This reminded me of people who say, "Not to be racist but..." or "I'm not a racist, but..." and then go on to say something racist.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Part of me wants to theologically MST3K this, but it's so spectacularly incoherent that I'm not getting any further than, "But he... But the... Buh!"

Though I will note that I ain't gonna hold my breath waiting for Everheart to start comparing all the in-pain-that-is-there-yet-not-denouncing-Islam/Iraq/Bin Laden prisoners in Guantanamo Bay and various US-approved undisclosed locations around the globe to Jesus Christ.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had to attend a two hour supplemental training session. It was ok, but a bunch of people got up and left before the leader dismissed us. She seemed a bit miffed by that. (Ok, we were hitting the end of the question-and-answer session, and no one had any more questions, but can't people be polite?)
