Cash, those bars sound amazing.
I'm writing my syllbus still. It's a pain the ass to plan an entire year of work in a few days. Especially since I've never done this before.
Did anyone hear the "In Character" on NPR this morning? It was about Buffy. YAY!
Steph, in the morning I might attribute this to lack of coffee. But then, how do these people DRIVE to work if they are that undercaffeinated?

Right?? Or, one might ask, how do they drive to work if they're that STUPID?
I heard it, Kat! Good, huh?

I drove to work today (which I rarely do) and heard it. Fun!
I feel that if you want the elevator doors to close faster, you can hit the "close doors" button.
We don't have "close" buttons in our elevators.
Some of them -- and I swear to you this is true -- have stood there and stared in astonishment for long enough that the doors closed.
I'd rather have that then have them start to get on the elevator, even though getting on means having to walk RIGHT THROUGH ME (and other people, usually).
The reverse doesn't bother me because I always feel the people exiting the elevator (and thus making more room) have the right of way.
Kat, my department head/friend who has taught AP Lit forever said to tell you she would be happy to share any of her "stuff" if you wanted it. You could even come to my school and talk with her in person if you'd like.

I did! It made me want to bust out my DVDs again.

scrappy and tommyrot, absolutely fun! I love this series and look forward to it each Monday. And I've been reading the blog where people nominate their faves. I think the take on Buffy was one I hadn't really considered before, or the context of the commentator was one I hadn't considered as being applicable.

Me too!

OH! I appreciate that so much. Unfortunately, I've promised my principal to get the syllabus done in the next 3 days (by Wednesday!) so it can be submitted. It's really an issue of blancing how specific I have to be with my desire for flexibility. Plus, I HATE planning.
