Some of them -- and I swear to you this is true -- have stood there and stared in astonishment for long enough that the doors closed.
I'd rather have that then have them start to get on the elevator, even though getting on means having to walk RIGHT THROUGH ME (and other people, usually).
The reverse doesn't bother me because I always feel the people exiting the elevator (and thus making more room) have the right of way.
Kat, my department head/friend who has taught AP Lit forever said to tell you she would be happy to share any of her "stuff" if you wanted it. You could even come to my school and talk with her in person if you'd like.
Did anyone hear the "In Character" on NPR this morning? It was about Buffy. YAY!
I did! It made me want to bust out my DVDs again.
I heard it, Kat! Good, huh?
I drove to work today (which I rarely do) and heard it. Fun!
scrappy and tommyrot, absolutely fun! I love this series and look forward to it each Monday. And I've been reading the blog where people nominate their faves. I think the take on Buffy was one I hadn't really considered before, or the context of the commentator was one I hadn't considered as being applicable.

Me too!

OH! I appreciate that so much. Unfortunately, I've promised my principal to get the syllabus done in the next 3 days (by Wednesday!) so it can be submitted. It's really an issue of blancing how specific I have to be with my desire for flexibility. Plus, I HATE planning.
There have been times when people walking will literally walk right into me, then pause, look down like, "Huh? What was that?" and then just keep walking. (These tend to be very tall people who are looking straight ahead and seem to not acknowledge that people much shorter than them are still people who deserve not to be walked into.)
I would take the stairs, if I could. But I think they're alarmed and locked to keep out transients, and I really don't like going into a confined space when there's no guarantee that I'll be able to get back out.
Paula came by on Saturday and took pics of my new place.

Was the apartment that pink when Colin was there?
The bathroom tile and floor is pink, but no. Not so much with the pink.
