And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

You'd think with that kind of money he'd be able to afford LASIK.

Yesterday was so beautiful we took the baby to the park and also got ice cream at the awesome new ice cream shop on our street. (NYC ICY! Finally open!)

Today we're getting a babysitter and going to see the new Indiana Jones movie. I call this weekend a win.

not your mom's socks.

Sox, does your little one also have allergies?

Have I mentioned here DH's theory about how you either get great eyesight or no allergies? Granted, he wouldn't know an allergy (or me, for that matter) without his bottle-cap glasses.

She does. Mostly contact ones though. She's been sniffly lately, and has a really strong sensitivity to sound that I'm trying not to read as OMG migraines.

Truth in posting though - the hay experience was following a late night with our houseguests who encouraged drinking wine while discussing mysygeny, womens' politics c. 1918, and the Keepsweet and Eldorado communities. So I was already without inner resources wrt resisting the hay onslaught. The latest round of allergy meds seem to have finally (24 hours later) done the trick. Eiyiyi. ::kicks self:: I was fine until about 5 minutes before we left the farm/barn place - then, I think, I turned into the straw man from the wizard of oz. with added bitchiness.

Although I do bring you some cuteness from the farm. baby goats (with ++hay): [link]

this was before we moved.... the ents, they have him now.

(brought to you by some residual frustration over a long-ago trip to Ohio where he didn't think 'sinus infection' was a big deal)

I'm with Jessica. Though I have pretty mild allergies, this year has been kicking my ass.

She does. Mostly contact ones though. She's been sniffly lately,

Noah has too. When my allergies flair up, he gets all runny nosed. My ped recommended claritin for kids....we'll see.

Baby goats are always cute.

I should ask ours about that. Though by the time we take him in for his 12-month checkup, allergy season will be mostly over.

The ped also said that the rule for antihistimines is to administer only if it is stopping successful sleep or eating. She did give us multivitamins with flouride (what's the deal with that again?) and antipyrine/benzocaine eardrops for ear aches related to teething or just general ear ooginess.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So much drama outside my building! The whole street is blocked off by trucks, which are lifting stuff onto the roof of the building next door. I almost couldn't come back in!
