I sent an email to my friend telling her if I was too much of a theological problem, I wouldn't be hurt if she asked someone else to be proxy. And I wouldn't. The issue is her faith's rules and while I may not agree with them, I do understand honoring them in this case. I can't lie to her priest, but I could tell him that while I may not share their belief, I honor their faith and their need to live their faith, even as it decries who I am. Because my friend loves and honors me regardless, and I love her and her family and to me, that transcends everything. And I'm at peace with that. I know what matters. It's love.

I have a tradition of A&W papa burgers on fridays. It's my one junk food ritual. And in the months I've done it, I've managed to lose weight. Not related to the burgers, I am sure. Just funny.

I think I need to make an addendum to me being a theological problem: while it doesn't hurt that my friend would need choose someone else, there's a part of me that is hurt (not at her, at...stuff), on a global philosophical level. I work hard to be a good human and to know my love ain't enough to some kinda makes me sad. I may be non-theist, but I'm a non-theist raised to see that of god in everything, even as I don't believe in that god, I seek that of something dear in everyone. And I don't reject them that don't see the same. I wish I lived in a world where I wouldn't be rejected for either. And I guess that's where it hits.
