Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

A lot of people read portions of the Bible pretty often.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The results would be a person who's quadriplegic.

I didn't mean head replacement, but was thinking more of head addition. It would be conjoining, I guess.

I don't think anyone's seriously considered this, but who knows what the future holds....

I guess I figure if I've thought about it fleetingly someone's considered it seriously, and at least gotten as far as evaluating logistics.

But she is really a lovely, caring woman. I was very happy she was around to take of my Dad the last couple of years of his life.

Doubleplus yay, then. I was thinking it'd have been sad for her to have been waiting, but the way it worked out is good.

Our wings are not tired.

The smart people saw the movie. Much less of a waste of precious time.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I'm just glad Dianetics isn't on the list.

ION what is it about Patrick Stewart in riding boots? I just want to... yum

Our wings are not tired.

Here in retirementville we hear lots of stories of early sweethearts finding each other again after being widowed. It must be easier to start again with someone you knew than a stranger. Guy across the street was married for 40+ years and less than a year after she died he married an old girlfriend from high school.

At the moment we have not so many old folks as spring breakers. There were 6 girls in bikinis at the 7-11 when I stopped earlier.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I have no idea, but GONE WITH THE WIND? How many people have actually READ the book, and not just seen the movie.

When we were in Atlanta, GF and I toured the Margaret Mitchell house and they said that GWtW is the biggest selling book in history behind the bible. So somebody is reading it (though I haven't).

ETA: They said Harry Potter was nipping at its heels...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I didn't mean head replacement, but was thinking more of head addition. It would be conjoining, I guess.

Huh. So suppose someone is dying, and the only option to save their life would be to transplant their head onto their spouse's body.

I suppose some people might agree to this but... I imagine almost all doctors would consider it unethical.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So suppose someone is dying, and the only option to save their life would be to transplant their head onto their spouse's body.

This was an episode of Futurama, incidentally. (Fry's head on Amy's body.)

Our wings are not tired.

My spouse would be outta luck. I am not having his head transplanted on me.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I have no idea, but GONE WITH THE WIND? How many people have actually READ the book, and not just seen the movie.

I read it!

Still appalling, mind.
