I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The GFY girls are hysterical on the topic of SJP's dress:

Aww, that sucks, Jesse. Is it that you need the candidates to come back in for a second round?

If it's totally impossible, I say tell her she was one of your top picks, but that you understand--that would've made me feel kick-ass, as an interviewee.

Random note: it has not rained here in a while, and has been lovely. So why, on the day that I"m going to get my haircut and wanted to talk to the stylist about blowing it out straight and how that looks etc, does it rain, so there's no chance of my hair behaving? GRRRR.

I threw together the assiest document ever (it started out as notes and then kinda evolved and I have no graphics skills to speak of and even fewer in word and I could've done a more professional job in CRAYON AND FINGERPAINTS ON A ROLL OF NEWSPRINT forgodssake) and it just got circulated to the group.

Sigh.

And did I mention I'm really busy?

Busy is not as much fun as procrasinatey, is it?

Coding and Sleeping

The review mentioned that you could get a Toyota (the smallest model) for less money that got better gas mileage and had seating for four instead of two....

I've just seen a couple of Smart cars driving around the last couple of days. They are really small. I think I'd go for an old used Honda Civic HX instead, not that it matters since I'd need four seats anyhow. Actually, we're starting to look for old used Honda Civics right now to replace our minivan. The combination of guilt and cost keeps our minivan usage minimal and it seems pointless to have a car we don't drive a lot. The primary objective to find something we can just buy with cash instead of financing.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Phelps protesting Jenna Bush's wedding is definitely high on the WTF?-meter, but at least at a wedding (or other celebratory event) the hosts and attendees can laugh off the crazy protesters and retreat to private property. Much better than those wastes of skin adding to the pain of grief-stricken mourners at a funeral, IMHO.

Plus, I get the fun daydream of a Texan Bridezilla making sure that their next protest is held in Guantanamo bay.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It's not even noon yet.

That is just so deeply wrong.

Ann, that's a ferret.

From tommyrot's link:

Only 50% of users are between 18 and 49 -- which means a large chunk of the under-18 set is picking up lolspeak when they should be learning English.

I'll accept that you should know the rules of a language before you start playing with or intentionally mangling the language. But do the writers really think that nobody over age 49 enjoys lolcats?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aww, that sucks, Jesse. Is it that you need the candidates to come back in for a second round?

Yep. I told her she was a "strong" candidate, but I don't want to make any promises -- what if my higher-ups strongly prefer the other finalist I bring back? Then I've made this girl turn down another job and still not get this one. That would suck.
