Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there, not just moms with kidlets but pet moms and surrogate moms too.

Heartily seconded. There are some pretty awesome moms here!

When I picked Bartleby up from his keeper following my retreat today, the keeper had flowers and a card for me, from him...with an ink paw print. She'd also taken him to petsmart so he could pick out his own toy. So sweet.

Bboy was so freaked out by the 'oh my god I thought you'd never come back' when I got to him, that he actually made himself sick. Poor boo. Now he's crashed out on the floor with a very possessive, "MY floor. Don't ever make me leave it again" stance.

The retreat was the best I've ever given and now I'm going to join Bartleby in a power nap.

Happy day moms!

The status is NOT quo.

Aw, thanks Burrell. Mother's Day hasn't always been an easy holiday for me the older I've gotten, so this means a lot.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I wish I had new clothes, but apparently not enough to actually go shopping. Hmph.

If the weather would just get reliably warmer, I'd probably get over this, because I could put other stuff into the rotation!

Also, I still can't make myself do the pieces of work I couldn't make myself do all week. Blarg!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Happy Mothers Day!!!

It's raining here. Bleh. I was going to go to the grocery store.

Still haven't done any work on my thesis this weekend. Don't think I'm going to, either.

Nice, but why do I get frisson of schadenfruede that the top layer of the cake is crooked.

I actually think that's the style now -- I recently saw a Food Network Challenge where every single cake was topsy-turvy looking. Hate it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If you're going to cant you should cant with attitude. That just looks like an accident is half an hour off.

Anyone know where I can buy one of those plastic cases with slots for holding 40 CDs? I've got one that I bought years ago, and I need another, and I can't find them anywhere. I'm trying to organize my stuff, and I realized that, since I've got all my music on my computer, I don't need to have all my CDs really easily accessible anymore, but I do want to keep them, so I want to get another one of those boxes so that they can be neat and compact and out of the way.
