Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
My binging on procedurals (Criminal Minds passed, Cold Case did not) has given me a goal. I want to be an autopsied corpse. Not one who has to do any acting--I just want to get made up and lie there all eviscerated.
That would be cool.
The Colbert/astronaut interview was one of the best things I have ever seen. The sheer joy and giddiness on both sides was fantastic.
Paging megan....
Is there a French exclamation roughly equivalent to "Oh, what the hell," only a little more polite? Like, something a gentleman would say in front of ladies he respects. The context is that he's agreeing to a somewhat reckless plan.

OMG! SPACE!
OMG! SPACE!YES! The progression (Space->Space!->OMG! SPACE!) was fucking hysterical. Also the moment when he let the "wrist strong" bracelet tumble through the zero gravity and Colbert burst out with, "I could die and go to heaven RIGHT NOW!" Also his taunting of Jon Stewart. Best Colbert segment ever.
Best Colbert segment ever.
Absolutely. The look on his face when he realized, "My voice is going into SPACE!" was awesome. As was the fact that he used the word "awesome" approximately every other sentence.
Actual BBC headline: Great tits cope well with warming
Here's a hint at what the article's about:
"Great tits have eight or nine babies in a brood, and each of them will eat about 70 caterpillars a day.
The chicks hatch and are fully grown within two weeks, so they need something that's really abundant - that's why they synchonise their breeding so hatching co-incides with the emergence of the caterpillars."

David, that sounds like my version of hell.
Can any of you hold the pose shown in figure 3?
the tripod one? I could do that much easier than a handstand, I think...but I think it would have to be tilted slightly differently than in the figure, to not fall over.

Isn't a tripod with your head also on the ground? That seems to keep being my problem -- I can't tilt far enough forward to be balanced right without my head hitting the ground. And if I try to hold my head up so that doesn't happen, it messes up my balance.
