So wait, the new kitchen (not the temp kitchen) is going to be in the old diningroom?

Old dining room is going to be my "kitchen" while my old kitchen is being gutted and rebuilt.

Tub in bathroom downstairs is coming out and a shower is being put in there (and shower will be put on tub in upstairs bathroom). Where the tub is will be made into a nook (from the kitchen side) for the refrigerator, opening up the space in the kitchen. Sink will be moved to a bar that will face towards the dining room. Stove will be moved to the other side of the kitchen.

Special shelf will be made for the cats to eat on! As part of a custom bookshelf next to the window.

The main thing is that he's taking out all the paneling and, finally!!!, the drop ceilings in the kitchen and downstairs bath.

lisah is getting a new kitchen!

I KNOW!!! I am excited even though I'm dreading the CHAOS that it will cause in my life for a while.

Smart to build a peace offering to the cats. I suspect your critters will be all OMGWTFCHAOSDEBRISNOISECRAZYWORLDUPSIDESIDEWAYS.

Which, you know, you may feel at times too, but you'll at least know it will end in a shiny new kitchen.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, that all sounds very exciting!

I remembered this morning that one of my coworkers is moving next week, and realized that I would totally be in the loony bin at this point if I were her. I'm halfway there anyway, and the work stuff is all I'm dealing with!

Oh, also, lisah, do you have access to a camping stove? I'm pretty sure that's what we used in the dining room when my childhood kitchen was redone. Possibly it was not safe.

Ask msbelle about the pirate that wanted to take a picture with her...

bahahahahah.... ah! those were the days.

I wish I had a cookie. And the apple dumpling recipe? if you scroll down to the bottoms, she usually has not a long rambly version, but the quick and dirty recipe.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

see - apparently it was funny.

I dream of having some work done on my place, but it will not happen for at least one year, and would be much much less work.

I think a friend was going to lend me a hot plate maybe.

The cats should be mostly okay, I think. They'll have the front window to hang out in. Plus all of upstairs. The dog will be even more confused than usual. Fortunately, my friend who is doing the work is VERY pet sensitive and is especially fond of poor old Frank.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

OK, list-of-weird-sites-I'm-indexing: I'm really planning on call it a day soon, get dinner and watch TV before starting yet another endless data web searching for the NGO.

So. Get. Shorter. Now. Bitch.

Please?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I dream of having some work done on my place

I dream of having my place, but then I get that nevergonnahappenwhybotherthinking sinking feeling, so then I remind myself to skim home improvement posts until my stoicism returns.

I read that pirate story and laugh, because dollars to doughnuts I wouldn't have done that. It takes a huge amount for me to register anything as a physical threat. It so rarely occurs to me that any given situation has the capability to escalate to fisticuffs.

I just don't associate fighting with anger and violence as much as perhaps I should.
