It might mean a mess of boxes in your diningroom for a bit, but if you can live with that, you can do all the sorting at a more leisurely pace.

The problem is that the dining room is going to become my defacto kitchen.

Now I'm feeling all HERE'S WHY YOUR SOLUTION WON'T WORK about it! I hate it when people do that!!!

So, yes! it's true I don't have to work out the sorting of stuff completely by Monday.

Hee. So wait, the new kitchen (not the temp kitchen) is going to be in the old diningroom?

I think I may need to advise all LAistas to begin evacuating the city, because I may need to destroy it.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Today I am eating animal crackers and candy bars and possibly BK, because DH and I start Nutrisystem tomorrow.

Noah is utra-rocket-cute.

Old dining room is going to be my "kitchen" while my old kitchen is being gutted and rebuilt.

Tub in bathroom downstairs is coming out and a shower is being put in there (and shower will be put on tub in upstairs bathroom). Where the tub is will be made into a nook (from the kitchen side) for the refrigerator, opening up the space in the kitchen. Sink will be moved to a bar that will face towards the dining room. Stove will be moved to the other side of the kitchen.

Special shelf will be made for the cats to eat on! As part of a custom bookshelf next to the window.

The main thing is that he's taking out all the paneling and, finally!!!, the drop ceilings in the kitchen and downstairs bath.

I KNOW!!! I am excited even though I'm dreading the CHAOS that it will cause in my life for a while.

Smart to build a peace offering to the cats. I suspect your critters will be all OMGWTFCHAOSDEBRISNOISECRAZYWORLDUPSIDESIDEWAYS.

Which, you know, you may feel at times too, but you'll at least know it will end in a shiny new kitchen.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, that all sounds very exciting!

I remembered this morning that one of my coworkers is moving next week, and realized that I would totally be in the loony bin at this point if I were her. I'm halfway there anyway, and the work stuff is all I'm dealing with!

Oh, also, lisah, do you have access to a camping stove? I'm pretty sure that's what we used in the dining room when my childhood kitchen was redone. Possibly it was not safe.
