heya, anyone have personal experience making five year cats finally wear collars, and having it stick?
I want to start letting them outside at my new place, but I want to keep a leash on them for at least a couple of evenings so they know which apartment to come back to (short of putting one of my dirty socks under the welcome mat outside) before I let them loose into the wild wild suburbs on their own.
Or maybe I should just kick their butts outside and wait for the nauseating worry to kick in.

My parents had halters on their first cats as a couple. However, that was from kittenhood. Mister Kitty was accustomed to wearing a collar when I got him (I took it off him) and he'd been a stray up until he was 2ish.
Devi's never had a collar. She goes flat if you try to put one on her.
