What that's line? "The future is not what it used to be."
Futurism has betrayed us, failed to deliver on its promises and has been always been about society, progress and culture. All of those seem aligned against the individual. Steampunk in its current incarnation has a strong DIY element, with it celebrating the act of individual creation rather than the relentless progress of society. So what the act of individual creation re-uses otherwise outmoded tech, it is still about how the individual can achieve/make something, as compared to the individual controlled and buffeted by the larger forces in futurism...
I think that is how the argument is going, at least...
Or intelligent robot dogs with lasers in their nose.

Am I the only one who went to a "ma nah ma nah" place?
Not anymore.
Am I the only one who went to a "ma nah ma nah" place?
Nope! I've been humming "do-doo-do-do-do" to myself since Tep posted.
To make up for futurism's disappointments, at least we have this
video of a car being catapulted by a trebuchet....
eta: But no explosion at the end. Those Russians just don't think big enough....
From the Washington, DC craigslist: Free Hillary Clinton Campaign Material (16th and Penn)
Bumper stickers, yard sign, pins, mugs, folders, letterhead and a large banner. Won't be needing them.
That's hilarious. Although not quite right -- are we supposed to think that W prefers Clinton over Obama?
surprising to exactly no one, I really want a glittery pink Smart Cat (possibly with all over multi-color stripes or polka dots).
OOH! I want a pink stripey Smart Cat too! But how do you attach the glitter without pissing them off?
this color pink [link] but with the glitter coat that they often put on motocycles in gold.
