Bah. I just had a long post about how pointless the racism v sexism debate is, and the interbunny ate it.

(Short version: Remember the blogosphere dustup a while back about "Hillary Clinton has never been called a nigger" / "Barack Obama has never been called a cunt"? Why the fuck did anyone think that was an argument they wanted to have? What productive thing did they expect to get out of it???)

Have been told to work on documentation. I think I'd rather quit than rewrite the steaming pile of crapulence that is the existing "manual".

I was a bit cheap this year for Mother's Day - I just have too much going on. I got her two CDs - Best of Elvis Costello and Best of ELO. She's not one to buy music so I think they'll be well-received. I thought about flowers too, but I don't think she'll be around on the actual day.

I'm not sure what to get my mom for mothers day. I was thinking about tickets to the Lincoln Center production of South Pacific, but they're pricy.

In my family, Mother's Day is a card-only holiday. But god help me if I forget the card.

I had a panic that last Sunday was Mother's day. I'm so relieved to find out that it wasn't, but I'm not much better off with regards to what I'm actually going to do about it.

if Obama REALLY wants Clinton to concede gracefully, he should promise to appoint her to the Supreme Court when he becomes President.

My initial reaction to this was "Ooh, shiny idea", but on second thought I don't love it. She has no judicial experience, and while I think she would be a better judge than Thomas, experience does matter, and I don't think she has the temperament to make a really good judge.

IOmemeNews, today is totally on the list. I woke up to no home internet (Comcast is having a service interruption), I left my iphone at home, which means I have no ipod unless I go back out to the car, and a button popped off my sweater at some point after I left the house and I can't find it, which means I'm going to have a clothing gap where there should not be a clothing gap all day.

My mom's birthday is at the end of May, so I usually end up getting something a bit more expensive than what I'd generally spend on a birthday present and making it a birthday/mothers day present.

Is it wrong that I'm a little irked that the two people I was supposed to go to lunch with today to show off the office (especially since one of them helped get me this job and was saying how cool it would be to come up here) have decided it's better that I go to their office and we'll pick something up.

I mean, it's not their fault someone is out, but I'm a little disappointed.
