It was a good thing Matilda was not at Emmett's game tonight, as he got drilled in the gut by a pitch. Right above the belt. Pretty much like being socked in the stomach by a guy with a really hard fist who can hit really hard.
He was in a heap at home plate (for the second game in a row) but I got him up and he didn't want a pinch runner. And he came around to score.
Then he caught a line drive in center field the next inning. And he hit a double in his next at bat (and came around to score eventually). And had an RBI in his next at bat. And pitched an inning without giving up a run (which included snaring a grounder up the middle and getting the last out himself after our third string shortstop had botched two plays).
So he actually had a very good game (which we won).
Except for the part where he got hit by a pitch.
Lady on support now is telling me the reason I can't get to imdb.com is because of a problem on their end. Now, despite the fact that I told her I've had intermittent problems getting to google.com and amazon.com and apache.org, the imdb.com problem is definitely them.
Why? Because she can't get to it either from where she sits.
As I was trying to point out--THE PROBLEM IS NOT COMING FROM INSIDE MY HOUSE. If a Road Runner redirect page tells me that the page doesn't exist (and people can get to the site from other networks), it's a Road Runner problem.
Poor thing got all flustered. But at least she's put me on hold. Once I told her I could get to imdb.com from my phone.
I really resent the idea that job #1 is to prove that it's my fault. Because she was really fighting that battle. Her apologies seemed sincere, but it didn't have to get somewhere she needs to say sorry.
Hmm. Space bar on the reassembled Mac is hinky. Now I need to pay attention.
I blew out the motor on my popcorn popper! I can't live like this.

People comment all the time about my band being a "girl" band. Uh..yeah...except for the dude on guitar. It's irritating to me, even when I know the person saying it thinks it's something cool and makes them inclined to enjoy our show, because there's such a whiff of "ooh it's like monkeys driving cars" or something about the observation.
