I'm going to Boston tomorrow for a big family to-do.
'The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco'
Natter 58: Let's call Venezuela!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
No definitive plans, apart from trying to get in touch with a friend who's father passed away last weekend and see if he needs anything. Also to confirm the memorial service for the public is next weekend (the funeral was family only).
What are people's weekend plans?
Farmer's market, gardening, maybe a play. And I told my friend (Christine, msbelle.) that she could come practice her fiddle at my place if she wants to.
We babysat for a friend last night (she's on her own until June, as her husband is shooting a movie in Prague). Tonight we go with that same friend and her 5-year-old to see "Speed Racer." Saturday morning we get up early and clean the house like maniacs, because at noon, the poodle we hope to adopt comes by to meet our animals. Cross your fingers that everybody gets along and that the shelter lady thinks we are good candidates. Sunday is chores--laundry, gardening and going to the gym...and maybe playing with our new dog!
My weekend plans include Iron Man and sleeping.
Work. Then some more work. Then I'll take the dog out. Then work.
(But hey, just got an appreciation award! An extra day of PTO! So I'll have even more in my non-rolling-over bank of days wasted at the end of the year. Thanks?)
Tonight we chill out and watch BSG. Tomorrow is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! We are hitting like 5 stores with a couple of friends and then getting dinner. Sunday is grocery shopping and homework (ugh).
What are people's weekend plans?
Family family family. My mom comes up every year for the 5-Boro Bike Tour and this year EVERYONE is joining her. So I've got dinner tomorrow, a Saturday matinee (In The Heights), dinner again Saturday, and something on Sunday depending on whether it's raining or not. Whew!
Laundry, dishes, and BSG tonight, Saturday working at the bookstore from 9-5 and then driving down to Joliet to see Bill Cosby at the Rialto (Dad called Wednesday and said he had an extra ticket--here's hoping the Cos is not in "curmudgeon" mode) and then staying overnight at his place and hanging with him on Sunday.
Maybe I can convince him to go see Iron Man with me, but he's not into superhero movies at all, so I doubt it.
