Well, it's just good to know that when the chips are down and things look grim you'll feed off the girl who loves you to save your own ass!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

McDonald's has a nutrition calculator that tells you cals, etc. for each ingredient in the sandwich. For example, the bun is 170 calories of the 520 calories in a Quarter Pounder w. Cheese.

Yeah, but I'm not looking at that calculator while I'm ordering -- just the grand total.

Goddamn, I love me a carnitas burrito. I know they are north of 1000 calories but, damn, I don't care. SO GOOD.

If it's any consolation (?), I think they only went up to 918 or something (each item had a range).

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just ate a giant burrito, and man, those calories were WORTH IT.

Me too!

And a cookie.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So, remember the article about the 400 calorie cookies at Starbucks?

If that's what they currently are, they've gone down by half since I worked there, just FYI. McDonald's is a bargain on that scale.

(From our nutritionals then, which can't be that different really, the only things under 500 calories were bran muffins, plain croissants, and baguettes. They have a few smaller things now that might be okay, but the other muffins, scones, and especially the cookies are waaay beyond what you would anticipate.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And now I see that Chipotle was called out in last week's Times article.

I just ate a giant burrito, and man, those calories were WORTH IT.

Also, I didn't notice that was the McDonald's Canadian site, until I read this:

McDonald's buys and serves the same wholesome foods our customers use at home, supplied by brand name companies Canadians know and trust. Essentially, we shop where you shop - our shopping basket is just a little bit bigger. It has to be when you're serving millions of hungry Canadians every day.

Hilarious.
