We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Hey, do any of the local Buffistas want a compost bin? I got this Smith & Hawken jobbie I really don't need, because I don't even have much of a yard to put the composted dirt in. Besides, the city collects and composts food waste with our yard debris, now, which is awesome.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, it was definitely a little chaotic, in a good way. Noodles.

The status is NOT quo.

Kevin, your best bet is to use hotels.com and search around the San Diego Convention Center, but your budget is a bit low for what hotels in the height of tourist season down there charge. Good luck!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Kevin - CouchSurf?
Not for everyone, but I love it.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Kristin, cheers! We've got one in budget from hotels.com now. It's 6 miles away from the convention centre - I think we're gonna be taxing it a lot!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So you made it to the Festival at least Kat?

Y'know, I'm usually pretty cynical about advertising, but I have to tip my hat to the folks at the Discovery Channel: [link]

2 of my grandparents had open caskets and have graves. The other two went to science and have no markers anywhere. Maybe somewhat unsurprisingly, seeing my (to be donated to science) dead grandfather as he was carried out on a gurney I found less disturbing than the open caskets. Maybe because he'd died in the house with us, and so it was an immediate confirmation, whereas the open caskets were enough after I'd accepted the deaths to be redundant.

I didn't get to bed until 4:30 am. Babysitting was fine, if late. We made brownies! Or rather, I supervised since the baby decided he needed feeding just as we started the process. I had visions of the 6 year old dropping the bowl (and there were a couple of near misses) but it went well. Kids passed out with half eaten brownies on the couches not too much later. Unfortunately, they took up all the couches, and I wasn't comfortable navigating the stairs carrying them, so I had no couch to crash on. I sat in the kitchen watching HGTV and Animal Planet. Man, some of those personalities would be well suited to children's tv...

Also confirmed it is best I not get cable.

Vacuumed, mopped, cleaned the bathroom and carpet cleaned once I hauled my ass out of bed.

Still a little out of it.

The status is NOT quo.

Matt, thanks for sharing that link. That is indeed a fantastic commercial. It makes me happy.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Kevin, people cancel at the last minute so keep your eye on hotels closer. Of course, I think the closer hotels will be out of your budget, but you might get lucky.
