OMGWTF Earthquake!
New Madrid! New Madrid!!
mac tested positive for strep.
Yikes. I found out recently that scarlet fever, which used to be portrayed as this terrible, awful, many-months-convalescence disease? Where you have to burn all your toys and bedclothes, even your beloved Velveteen Rabbit? (Except if the Rabbit has a fairy godmother, but you don't know about that part.) That scarlet fever is just strep throat gone slightly haywire, and the many months of convalescence were more likely to be many months recovering from whatever awful "cure" medicines they gave you.
We heard about the earthquake on the radio on the way into work. Some of my co-workers claimed it woke them up.
To this event I can only say "Oh HAHA California, VERY FUNNY!"
I happened to be awake when the earthquake happened (I was in bed, almost asleep). It felt like my bed was shaking, except I have my futon on the floor. It also sorta' felt like when you go to bed really drunk and it feels like your bed is spinning, except it just felt like it was moving side to side. Then I head my bookshelf squeaking, as it was rocking back and forth, and I figured it out. I was mostly annoyed - I didn't want my building to shake like that!
My can seemed concerned but not freaked out.

mac also has gotten sick 3 out of 4 times after taking amoxicilian
DH is the same! And me for erythromycin - much more common though. I know there's something they give instead...
Here - so far so good... she's definitely peppier. I'm waiting until the noon temperature before I actually hope we're through this and/or start believing the doc may actually have been telling the truth.
coffee - for an amused/confused

t Doing my almost-usual (how sad) skipping-and-intterupting ongoing conversations I know nothing about
I'm so glad I got a minute in front of a computer today, Pessakh and all, because, according to the Buffista Calnedar, today is beth's birthday.
Happy birthday, beth! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
Also, a good minimally-stressed Pessakh, for those who celebrate it, and a great day-before-weekend, and weekend, of course, for simply everybody, with birthdays or holidays, or without.
OK, it's time to check my cake again - my mom worked her oven too much, so the cake only had a place on top, which almost burned her upper crust, and left her middle a bit too liquid-y. I'm trying to fix that - wish me luck!
t Poof, disappearing in a cloud of matzah-crumbs dust
Oh, earthquake people, I hope you're safe and alright.
If I'm not mistaken, I think it's beth's birthday. Happy birthday!
Also, my sister is here for Passover, after she stayed for another 24 hellish hours in her base. My dad drove to pick her up, since every few hours the army changed the vacation policy. She's sleeping now, and spent most of the time yelling at us, bus clearly happy to be here and yelling at us. We could hardly keep a straight face. It's a great feeling.
And now, I have to go outside and take pictures of flowers. Don't ask.
Edit: Good luck Nilly, and Happy Passover if you celebrate it!
Did not wake up for the earthquake. Nor, to the best of my knowledge, did the dog.
New Madrid! New Madrid!!
Note that, being Illinois, that's pronounced New MAD-rid. Though they keep showing it on the map, I've yet to discover what cracked out pronunciation the state has come up with for the epicenter town of West Salem.
Happy Birthday, beth of the excellent profession and great name!
And me for erythromycin
I did not know this. That's the one I can't tolerate.
