Very convincing. Makes me completely want to put myself under government control. Please take me to where you can make me unconscious and naked.

Ann, that's a ferret.

IMO, small town America has been getting the economic shaft long enough that they've given up on politicians' proposals to address economic justice issues and have become more concerned about issues of religion and gun control.

The problem with "bittergate" is that, IMO, this is what Obama said. And while I agree that Obama's phrasing wasn't the best, I for one would much rather have seen the Chattering Classes offer some ideas about the economy of small-town America and how to help it.

But then, I'm one of the "people not like themselves" that Obama referred to as being attacked. Even though, until I was almost 14, I didn't live in a small town -- I lived in the country. As in, mailing address was "Rural Route #2."

It feels awesome, I have to say!

My awesome feeling came last night. My car has been having a clutch problem and two setting on the vent fan weren't working. Last night, I took care of the clutch, fixed the vent fan, and changed the oil and air filter while I was at it. It was very satisfying. I thought I would have to drop some serious bucks getting those two things fixed, and it ended up costing $32 dollars and a minor scrape on my hand.

I've heard the candidates (Dem) referencing the number of uninsured many times, but to me, that number of people bankrupted is just as if not more compelling - that should be drilled.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, but I don't think that's what he meant. I think he meant those have become the political issues of interest because they've given up on economic issues rather than that people start going to church or buy guns because of it.

I'm sure that's not what he meant, but it's easy enough to make it sound like that's what he meant, clearly, and that's the problem.

I guess I can go get lunch now.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

And, now that I've dragged my lazy... er, fingers off the home keys, I guess, I see that Clinton's site has details of her plan as well. Funny, you wouldn't know it by the coverage, would you? On the other hand, I guess you cover the differences, and they're both saying, "Let's get out!" It'll probably be ACTUALLY covered in the actual election.

Art Crawl!!!

Annoying slideshow of the "smartest + dumbest dogs and they do say "dumb" not - - - stupid. But I think that they confused "trainability" with "intelligence."

I kinda feel like a freak. I grew up in Kansas and have always been a city boy. My parents were city folk. My grandparents were city folk. Pretty much no farm heritage at all.

Hey, for the longest time, the only address for the family farm in Minnesota was:

Family name
Ward, South Dakota

I think the USPS eventually got around to using a roadname and number.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Happy birthday Sheryl!

Is it just me, or have mornings been especially vicious this week?

OMG! YES!

Yeah, but I don't think that's what he meant. I think he meant those have become the political issues of interest because they've given up on economic issues rather than that people start going to church or buy guns because of it.

I got this message.

Relatedly, that was the dumbest, most frivolous, shitty-assed debate last night. I only watched a half an hour. Seriously, they ask crap like that and then have the gall to advance the meme that Dems don't have a plan?

I nearly threw the radio across the room this morning to hear Mara Eliason (sp?) say, "the candidates spent most of their time rehashing personal attacks"

Lady, no. ABC did that.
