"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, thank you, amych, but I'm fine. Mostly tired and a little bit upset and worried of course, but that's part of life and me being extremely aware of the situation there until November 2009, when she'll finish her army service.

I guess my sister is fine too - I haven't heard from her yet, but it's hard to keep in touch with her sometimes. I'm just hoping she'll come home for the Seder, her commanders are giving her hard time. As if they don't have other stuff to worry about...

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I got to sleep almost all night last night! (Dylan woke up at 2, but DH got him back to sleep, and then he didn't wake up again until 5:30! Whee! But we're still Ferberizing as soon as we get back from DC.)

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Or Most Awesomest Comic Book Characters (A Definitive List)?

Let's see this list.

An excerpt:

1) Miracleman (natch)
2) Captain Marvel
3) Batman
4) Superman
5) Grendel (any incarnation, really)
6) Flash (preferably Barry Allen, but Wally West will do. And Jay Garrick is kind of the bomb, yo.)
7) Wolverine (okay, as a teen I was all about the "Grr, I kill you" *snikt snikt* thing, I admit it.)
8) Swamp Thing (after Alan Moore took him over and made him interesting)
9) V (speaking of Alan Moore)
10) Ambush Bug ('cause he's funny)

Punishingly Intricate

Well, I went crazy and volunteered to pay the difference for friend's childcare for the toddler daughter, if they couldn't manage it.

You really are a great friend, sarameg. Even if they don't take you up on the offer I'm sure having your friendship is a huge support for them.

Shir, I hope your sister is able to come home for the holiday. Not being able to see her or talk to her regularly must make it so much harder. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Happy Birthday ND!!

oh, and, happy birthday, ND!!

man, it's my mom's and my good friend's birthdays this weekend and I have NO ideas about presents. Maybe I'll just promise my mom a train trip down here, pedicure, and day at one of the museums. Sometime this summer. That's always fun.

Happy Birthday Noise Design.

I was off on Monday and stayed home with a migraine yesterday, and I feel very behind being back today.
