Doesn't matter that we took him off that boat, Shepherd, it's the place he's going to live from now on.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Feel better, Nora!

Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone. I feel fine now, but I am very nervous about eating anything. I'm munching on Saltines and drinking ginger ale. This is the same kind of antibiotics I've been taking for 10 days, so I'm just surprised that I didn't have a reaction until today. But I took the pill right before eating rather than after; I guess that's what made the difference. And I'm not going to worry about the fact I lost that last dose given that this is Day 17 on one kind of antibiotic or another. God, ND is a saint. His poor truck. He's taking it in to be cleaned thoroughly tomorrow.

Hil, your bookcase reorganization sounds excellent. And Beth, that really is a brilliant idea.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Brilliant solution by Matt.

Just had this conversation with Matilda.

Matilda: (brandishing her little glass of water) "More?"
Me: "Can you say please?"
Matilda: "More More More!"

What is even happening?

Hee. Does that rise to the level of 'good enough'? You'd better get her the water before someone gets hurt, Hec.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Previous "please"-prompting conversation:

Matilda: brandishing cup More!

Me: ...

Matilda: More more more more more!

Me: More please?

Matilda: in an "Uh huh, that thing" tone Yeah!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The lattice idea is genius.

Anyone know the best way to polish silver-plate stuff? I've got a havdalah set that's looking kind of grungy.

Well, she did have an appreciative look on her face. And she looks really cute wobbling around sipping water with ice cube from a tiny little sherry glass.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I hope you are feeling better and better, Kristin.

I made a salad for Mother's Day brunch tomorrow (Panzanella). Delicious, but I'm not sure how to pronounce Panzanella! Is it pan-zan-AYAH or pan-zan-ELLAH?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

pan-zah-nehl-la, at least that's how it sounds in my head.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My mom is away and my MiL already received her flower delivery so I have no maternal obligations tomorrow. And yet, I have a non-kinfolk brunch to attend. Funny old thing, life.

My friends that might stop by are probably not going to. Which is okay as my house is only half-assedly cleaned, but still disappointing because I wanted to see them. So it goes.
