Angel: You know, I killed my actual dad. It was one of the first things I did when I became a vampire. Wesley: I hardly see how that's the same situation. Angel: Yeah. I didn't really think that one through.

How do you like black? I've got two in a box waiting to go in the mail to you.

Seriously? What kind?

Just set up the new bookshelf. Was easier than I'd expected. But I just grabbed the books that have been on the floor and piled on the windowsill and on the table, and they fill up about 2/3 of it. I think I need to rearrange things so that book shelves are only books -- right now, I've got CDs and DVDs on one shelf, and my printer on another -- but even so, I think I'm getting very close to owning more books than this apartment can hold. I can probably cull a bit, but there aren't that many that I can get rid of. So this is two big antique glass-front cases, one little Ikea case, and one medium Target case full of books. I've got enough wall space for one more little Ikea case, but that's about it.

As to the Florida link. Really nothing to say. I usually try to go for structural explanations. But sometimes the answer is that people are no damn good.

Let me pull them out and take a quick picture. Hang on. They're very simple, but I've literally got them in a box to Craigslist.

That Florida link is crazy. Just, nuts.

I have rearranged stuff to free up some bookshelf space, and it's a functional arrangement, but I really don't like how it looks. Having the printer on top of my desk makes the shape all wrong. Need to ponder.

Ok. Here you go, Hil.

Lamp 1: [link]

Lamp 2: [link]

They need some serious dusting, which I would do before sending them. They've been in a box for two years.

They're nice, but not really the size I'm looking for right now -- I think I need either a desk lamp with a really tiny footprint, or a floor lamp. Thanks anyway, though.

Rearranged stuff again. Printer on top of little bookcase seems to work OK. And putting it this way let me rearrange where I had the modem and router plugged in, which let me eliminate a bunch of messy cords. And the way I have it now, I can hide a bunch of others by taping them to the back of the desk leg. (I have issues with cords. Can't stand a tangle of electrical cords under the desk.)

t edit: the Apple cords that let you swap out the cord or the plug are great. Just switched a bunch of those around, and it made everything a whole lot neater. Computer cord goes right into the wall, Airport Express gets some extra cord so that it can sit on the desk.
